Flatfight
When a customer disputes a Stripe payment, the proof that they used what they bought is usually in your product, not in Stripe. Flatfight brings that evidence together, tells you honestly which disputes are worth fighting, and charges a flat $9 per won dispute instead of a cut of what you recover.
Watch it work
The whole flow in under two minutes, from connecting Stripe to the bank's decision. It has a voiceover, and the captions are part of the video, so it also reads with the sound off.
What it does
Flatfight connects to your Stripe account through the Flatfight Stripe App and imports every dispute as it opens, plus the last 12 months when you first connect. For each one it gathers the evidence that answers that dispute's reason, scores the case, and prepares a response that follows Stripe's evidence guidelines. You review exactly what the bank will see, then submit with one click.
The evidence Stripe can't see
For software, courses and memberships, the strongest answer to "I didn't make this purchase" or "I never received it" is what the customer did after paying. Flatfight brings that in from the tools you already use:
- Product activity from PostHog, Segment, RudderStack, Teachable or Thinkific: logins, usage, lessons completed and downloads, with IP address and device
- Support conversations from Intercom, Help Scout or forwarded emails
- Anything else through a CSV upload or the Activity API, or an integration built for you on request
It adds what Stripe already knows, such as card checks, 3D Secure and, for Visa fraud disputes, earlier undisputed payments that qualify under Visa's Compelling Evidence 3.0.
Honest scores, and your click
Countering a dispute costs a fee that is only refunded if you win, so fighting a case you will lose makes it more expensive. Flatfight scores each case strong, medium or weak, with the reasons, and recommends accepting the weak ones. A short summary at the top of each response is written by Claude, and every sentence must cite a fact Flatfight gathered; anything that doesn't is rejected.
Nothing goes to the bank without your click. You can turn on autopilot, which submits only strong cases, 48 hours before the deadline, if you haven't acted. It is off until you choose it.
Inside your Stripe Dashboard
The Flatfight Stripe App shows the case score, the deadline and what would make it stronger right on each disputed payment, and lists your open disputes in the app drawer. One click opens the dispute in Flatfight.
A chargeback on a subscription usually means the next renewal gets disputed too. If you turn it on, Flatfight stops a disputed subscription's renewals, or cancels it immediately for fraud, as soon as the chargeback arrives. It never refunds or prorates, and it is off by default.
Pricing
Pay per win: $9 per won dispute under $100, and $19 per won dispute of $100 or more. Lose one and you pay nothing. There's no monthly fee, and no card is needed until you first submit a response.
Flat monthly: Starter at $49 a month for up to 15 disputes, or Scale at $99 a month for up to 50, with nothing charged per win. Flatfight never takes a percentage of what you win. Current prices are on flatfight.com, and those are the authoritative ones.
Data and permissions
Unlike our other apps, Flatfight has to work with content: to build evidence for a dispute it reads data about that payment and that customer. It processes it on servers in the EU (Helsinki, Finland), encrypts Stripe access tokens a second time, and deletes decided disputes after the retention period you choose. Integrations are read-only, and the tools Flatfight looks things up in (PostHog, Teachable, Intercom, Help Scout) are searched only for the customer who disputed.
These are all the Stripe permissions the app asks for, and why:
| Stripe resource | Access | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Disputes | Write | Read disputes, and submit or accept one only when you click (or with autopilot on) |
| Files | Write | Upload the evidence documents, only when you submit |
| Subscriptions | Write | Read billing periods and cancellation dates, and stop a disputed subscription only if you turn that on |
| Charges and Refunds | Read | The disputed payment, card checks and earlier undisputed payments |
| Customers | Read | Identify the customer in the evidence |
| Payment Intents | Read | Link each dispute to its payment and read the authentication result |
| Invoices | Read | What was billed, and when |
| Products and Prices | Read | Describe what the customer bought, and its price and interval |
| Checkout Sessions | Read | Show the customer accepted your terms at checkout |
| Events | Read | Hear about new and updated disputes as they happen |
It can never move money or touch payouts, balances, charges or refunds. The full detail is in Flatfight's privacy policy and security overview.
