Lookahead: Read-only Gantt for Jira

Lookahead is published by Dripwork. The app reads Jira data in the browser of the person using it, with that person's own Jira permissions, and draws it on screen. The only things it stores are saved views and preferences, held in Atlassian's own Forge storage. It makes no network calls outside Atlassian.

1. What the app reads

Lookahead reads Jira data in the browser of the person using it. That includes work items, projects, fields, saved filters and versions. Every read runs with that person's own Jira permissions, so they only see what they can already see in Jira.

This data is used only to draw the timeline on screen. It is not stored by the app, and it is not sent anywhere else.

2. What the app stores

Lookahead stores these in its own Forge storage, which is hosted by Atlassian:

Saved views: a name, whether the view is shared, and its settings, meaning the chosen projects, filter ID or JQL text, zoom, grouping and display options, plus the Atlassian account ID of the person who created it.
Preferences: the last settings each person used on each page, and whether they dismissed the welcome tip, keyed by Atlassian account ID.

It stores no work item content, names, email addresses or other personal data. The only personal identifier it holds is the Atlassian account ID that owns a view or a preference.

3. Permissions

Lookahead has no write access to Jira. It cannot create, change, move or delete anything in your Jira site.

4. What the app does not do

It does not send data outside Atlassian. It has no external network permissions and qualifies for Runs on Atlassian.
It does not use analytics, tracking or third-party services.
It does not sell or share data.
It does not log Jira data. Only the Forge platform's own operational logs apply.

5. Exports

CSV and image exports are generated in the user's browser and saved to their device. They are not uploaded anywhere, and the app never sees them.

6. Location, retention and removal

Location: stored data lives in Atlassian's Forge hosted storage for your site, and follows your site's data residency.
Retention: saved views and preferences are kept until they are deleted.
Deleting views: people can delete their own saved views in the app at any time.
Uninstalling: Atlassian deletes the app's stored data under its standard Forge data retention rules.

Jira data read by Lookahead stays inside Atlassian and is never transmitted to Dripwork. The data the app stores, saved views and preferences, also lives inside Atlassian's platform for your site. Dripwork does not receive, hold or process your Jira content, and has no copy of it.

8. Changes

If the app starts handling data differently, we update this page and the date at the top, and note the change on the Atlassian Marketplace listing once the app is listed.
